Steps to Starting a Business in India

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has sought to streamline various procedures under the Companies Act, which would enable online incorporation of companies within 24 hours. According to Circular No. 49 (dated 23rd July 2011), the simplified process of online incorporation is likely to be implemented with effect from August 2011. However as per the existing procedures, incorporation of a company requires 12 procedures and usually takes 30-45 days to start a business in India, according to a World Bank Study “Doing Business 2011: Making a Difference for Entrepreneurs”.
